Orphaned projects, solo inspirations, and the metamorphosis into Dread Zeppelin… pieces. That’s what comprises this album.

Following the short, but fruitful stint with Island Records UK, The Prime Movers found themselves back where they started; at home in Sierra Madre, CA with nothing but a guitar. Most people would fold up, vow to quit it all and become a milkman. Instead, they did what their friends and comrades in Big Country prescribed; they came up screaming. With that and my steadfast presence behind the recording console, these recordings were produced. A collection that, despite its inherent schizophrenia, we are all very proud of.

Fast forward to the time of this release, The Prime Movers story is far from over. With new music sprouting from the ground and falling from the sky, we will spin this Birdcage Record at a sufficient volume to honor the memory of our beloved friend Joe Severs “Jah Paul Jo” Ramsey (1956-2014). It is our wish that you will join us. Feel the magic.

The Prime Movers scored two Top Forty hits in England with the songs, “On The Trail” and “Dark Western Night.”

Another song, “Strong As I Am,” was selected by film-maker Michael Mann to be the featured song in his movie, “Manhunter” (the prequel to “Silence Of The Lambs”). Later released by MCA as a single, Michael Mann liked it so much that he personally financed the "Strong As I Am" video. ... more
